Shamshiri Restaurant

Brought a non persian friend here to try persian food for the first time ever and it was my first time dining in as well Everything was so so wonderful and he left a convert obsessed with persian food! Portions are huge, so order accordingly. The lamb neck is to die for, soo tender and juicy, and the kashke bademjan was soo good even for me who's generally eggplant averse. Definitely recommend the zeytoon as well if you like sour food like i do, and don't skip their homemade doogh!! Great service from Leyla all through the night, and they were nice enough to stay open for us when we were the last ones in with no pressure to leave.

I had just finished my gym session at Hillcrest Mall with my friends and was looking for a Persian restaurant. One of the trainers recommended Shamshiri. Upon arrival we were seated and the place looks very clean and nicely decorated. We opted for the family special with a bunch of side orders. Our servers Nazli and Leila were outstanding in their service and hospitality. The food tastet just amazing from the kebab to the rice along with all the side dishes. I will definitely revisit this place again due to the quality of the food and service received. Thank you Shamshiri for an unforgettable memory.

Shamshiri in Thornhill is a cozy Persian restaurant that serves up generous portions of flavourful, traditional dishes. From juicy kebabs to fragrant stews and fluffy saffron rice, everything tastes homemade and satisfying. The menu has lots of variety, so there’s something for everyone. They offer complimentary “Garden Salad” and “Mast-o-Khiar” to guests upon arrival. We ordered “Kashk-e-Bademjan” for appetizer and “Sultani Kebab” for main. Kebabs were fresh and flavourful, grilled just right. They offer dine-in on first come first serve basis and don’t accept reservations. The pickup/takeout is fast and efficient. The space is clean and welcoming, and the staff are friendly and quick to help.

Amazing food!!! Got the kashk-e-bademjan which is an eggplant appetizer and the zereshk polo with the chicken leg and they were both really good. I have also tried their kebabs as well and they’re amazing. The portions are also very generous which is hard to find in restaurants nowadays. Can’t wait to go back to dine in.

We had a great experience at Shamshiri! The place is small and relatively busy, but the food quality absolutely justifies the crowd. The staff were very polite and friendly, and we really appreciated their warm hospitality. They started us off with a garden salad, mast-o-khiar, and fresh bread. We also ordered the barley soup as an appetizer, it was very tasty and had the comforting flavor of homemade soup. For the main course, we ordered Family Pack No. 3. The chicken breast kebab was incredibly juicy and delicious, the koobideh was flavorful, and the barg was tender and perfectly cooked. They also served Shirazi salad along with the main dishes, plus a cauliflower and carrot pickle that was excellent. The doogh was just a simple yogurt-and-water style, nothing special. We had previously tried Shamshiri at Sheppard and didn’t enjoy it, but the Richmond Hill location is truly high quality. We definitely recommend giving it a try!

This place is already very well-known and popular in the Persian community, but I still have to leave my review because it truly goes beyond expectations! The food, the service, the staff, and their warm attitude are all five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The dishes served at Shamshiri Restaurant are always fresh and delicious. The baghali polo with lamb shank or neck is one of a kind; cooked to perfection with the right balance of spices that make it taste amazing. The kababs are also excellent, especially the kabab torsh with barg kabab, which is outstanding. Beyond the food, the service is quick and the staff are incredibly friendly, warm, and respectful. Our server Arvin was such a nice and welcoming guy! He patiently handled all our requests with a big smile and made the experience even better. I enjoyed the way they welcome you and make you feel valued as a customer, as opposed to many other persian restaurants! The restaurant itself is clean and pleasant. The indoor area is a bit tight, but the outdoor patio is beautifully designed and such a nice spot to sit. Overall, I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for authentic Persian food—it’s a true gem!

Great food and generous portions! The food at Shamshiri Restaurant was absolutely delicious, and the portions are huge. One dish is easily enough for two people to feel full. The place is usually busy, so expect a short wait to be seated but it’s definitely worth it for the quality and taste of the food.

We had an amazing dinner at Shamshiri in Toronto! Everything was absolutely delicious — the meat was perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor, and the rice was fragrant and fluffy. The portions are generous, the food tastes authentic, and the presentation is beautiful. We especially loved the dish with pomegranate and walnuts — such a unique and rich combination of flavors! The staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for real Persian cuisine — it’s truly one of the best!
